Home

After several days of enjoying the beautiful Colorado landscape, we’re home! It was a great trip, the girls were good and Sean and I got two days of skiing. Could you ask for more?

This was a trip of many firsts for Cate. She toasted her first marshmallows over a campfire to make s’mores, she braved the mountain while trying to ski and she got to eat an insane amount of sweets while watching an endless loop of movies in the car. All in all, it was a good time for her. The skiing didn’t go quite as planned. We keep reminding ourselves that she is only 3. Her lesson went well and her teacher, Miss Kristen, just threw her skis on, plopped her on the lift and they were off. It was only when Mom and Dad came into the picture that trouble started. Let’s just say, a meltdown on the mountain and a three-hour nap followed. She was tired, but insists she wants to ski again. So, maybe next year….

Peri was her normal happy-go-lucky self. During the week, she has started to get really excited about her bottle and cereal. Most hilarious is her new ability to pull off her socks and put her feet into her mouth. I love that! And, she is now hopelessly in love with her rabbit blanket/toy. She has to have it to sleep and we think it will be her “bear.”

Sean and I skied two days and the last day, it actually snowed! The skiing was perfect and we had such a great time. It was nice to have some family time with the girls, as Sean has been traveling so much. We’ll take what we can get, because the traveling begins again within the next few weeks. However, it is always great to be home. So, now we’re back to reality complete with yards that need to be mowed and endless piles of laundry. Welcome home, people.
