Changes

It’s been a crazy few weeks, so let’s get to it!

As many of you know, my mom was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. We’ve really been through a roller coaster of emotions, but we are all positive that Mom is going to whip this disease. I’ve been busy cleaning and going to doctor appointments with her, while Sean has been a whiz in the kitchen cooking for her and researching the best cancer-fighting foods. The girls have been busy providing the entertainment. All together, we’re a one-family, cancer-fighting team!

I have really appreciated all of the phone calls and emails from friends and family concerned about her (and me, also!). In order to keep people informed, I started a blog for my mom. You can visit it by visiting http://retiredcoales.blogspot.com/. She is hoping to post weekly about her chemo treatments and how she is planning on kicking cancer’s ass!

The girls have been going through some changes themselves. Cate has been quite the pistol over the past few weeks. Just picture loads of tantrums. She has actually been quite the doll over the past few days (knock on wood), but we are struggling to figure out what exactly is causing her meltdowns. It’s times like these that really make you wonder what kind of parent you are. On the brighter side, she is in theatre camp this week and loving it. We can’t really figure out what they’re doing, but she seems to be having fun. All I know is she’s out of the house for 3 hours every day this week. Trust me; it’s good for both of us!

Peri is trying so hard to crawl. She wants to be mobile, but can’t quite get the mechanics figured out. I expect her to take-off over the next few weeks. She is also getting good at copying language. If you ask her, she’ll repeat, “Dad” “Cate” and “Pa.” She says “Mama” and/or “Baba” when she is really upset and crying. It’s all adorable.
