Seven Random Things

Ok, so I was “tagged” by my pals Ashli and Brooke to do this meme thing. It seriously took Ashli about 5 minutes to explain to me what I was supposed to be doing. I’m telling you...I’m technologically challenged. Anyway, so here’s seven random things about me:

Seriously Arachnophobic: I am so scared of spiders it’s ridiculous. I have cried several times at the site of a spider and can’t even see them on t.v. without screaming. Let’s just say I have my house sprayed for insects religiously.

Welcome to the Hawkeye State: I lived in Sioux City, Iowa for one year after graduating from college. Sean dragged me to that godforsaken state after he accepted his first reporting job. We were just married, flat broke and it was approximately 12-degrees the entire year. Oh ya, they didn’t have salsa anywhere and made fun of me for saying “ya’ll.” Let’s just say I was glad to come home.

Thank You Queen: Ashli wanted me to write about this one. I am obsessive about writing thank-you notes. I try to get them out as quickly as possible and I think it could be a tad annoying.

Reuse & Recycle: I have a hard time throwing things away. For example, after emptying a Cool Whip container, I will wash it out and use it again as pseudo-Tupperware. Currently, I have an extensive collection of Cool Whip containers and small pesto jars which house my chopped onions. Don’t get me started on my office….

Love Baking, Hate Cooking: This is simple. I love baking. Love it! I’ll bake anything. Cookies, cakes, brownies or bread. But, I hate cooking. Hate it! This is why Sean does all the cooking. We’re a match made in heaven. Which brings me to my next point…

Let’s Get To It: Sean and I only dated for 9 months before we got married. We met in journalism school, had many drinks and poof, we got married. I actually stood up a guy to go on my first date with Sean (at a bar, no less). It’s cliché, but we just knew that we were meant to be together. Ahhh…..

Take the “L” Train: I am 4th in a series of women on my dad’s side of family having first names that begin with the letter “L.” It started with my Grandma and went from there: Lucille, Lorene, Linda, Leslie, Lauren and finally, Laurel (our Cate’s first name). We broke tradition when we named Peri.

Alright, that’s it. Hope you enjoyed. I will not be tagging anyone, since all my blogging friends have been tagged. So, if you’re reading this and you have a blog, tell the world seven random things about yourself!

Fun- I knew all of that other than the containers- I have an impressive sour cream container stash myself. Camille
