The newest Mossman is here!

She arrived seven days early. She is the size of a barc-a-lounger. She is absolutely adorable.

November 1, 2006 at 12:31 p.m., Peri Elizabeth Mossman burst on the scenes.

Here's the story:

At around midnight, Wednesday morning, Leslie woke me up because she was feeling contractions. We timed for an hour and they were only 3-5 minutes apart.

We tried to wake my brother up to stay with Cate, but no luck. Then we reached our friend Brenda who trapsed down from Edmond at 1:30 in the morning.

After a few hours of contractions, they gave Leslie a shot to slow them down and a pill to help her sleep. We went home, slept for two hours and then things got hectic.

We were scheduled for our final doc's appointment at 10:30 this morning anyway. So the doc called and told us to just come in and have the baby.

We went into surgery shortly before noon. Anesthetic. Anesthetic. Anesthetic. AAAHHHH, anesthetic.

The surgery was fairly uneventful. The first peep we heard from anyone was Dr. Stone saying she had a lot of dark hair. The somoene said, "she's gonna be big."

"She's really big," said one nurse.

"Oh my goodness," said Dr. Stone.

"I think she's eleven pounds," said another nurse.

The official weight.... ten pounds, three ounces. 22 inches. OSU has already offered her a basketball scolly.

Mom is doing well. A little tired.

Cate is a work in progress. She really melted down when she saw her Mommy in the hospital. She kept asking if she was ok. She made Leslie cry at one point.

She buttered up a little after a while. She even gave her baby sister a kiss. It's gonna be hard for her to adjust to not being an only child.

Anyways. Everyone is doing well. The girl is beautiful. Mom is happy. Dad has three pretty girls in the house now. All is well.
