Birthday Girl!

Can you believe it?
Our girl Cate turned two this weekend! After much deliberation, we decided to forgo the formal birthday party route and play it low-key. I’m sure by next year, she’ll be able to tell us exactly where she would like to celebrate the big day.

Anyway, we spent the day with various family members. Best of all, Cate got to spend some time with her friend, Miles, who traveled from Sapulpa to Okemah for the celebration. They enjoyed eating a Finding Nemo cake (with ice cream on the side, of course), opening gifts, cooking a gourmet meal in Cate’s play kitchen and generally running wild around the house. As a special treat, we walked up to Mama Ni’s and Papa’s to check out the tractor and hay barn. Cate had a great time and by the end of the day, she was pooped. It’s been the fastest two years in our lives and we are so happy with Cate. Thanks to everyone who sent gifts and well wishes.

Life is pretty much back to normal after Christmas, vacation and birthday. In fact, the day after Cate’s birthday, she fell down in the Jason’s Deli parking lot and promptly got a nice black eye (see picture). Welcome back to reality…..
