Trapped!

OK, maybe the title is a little on the melodramatic side, but only a few hours into this ice storm and I’m restless. (For those outside of OKC, we are experiencing a major ice storm that is expected to last 2 days and shut down the city. Bummer). While we sit and wait for the power to supposedly go out (probably an overzealous prediction of the forecasters), I have baked a peach pie, done several loads of laundry and watched more TV than I care to admit.

Worst of all, we’ve cancelled Cate’s birthday party for tomorrow. I’m sad, but we have rescheduled and she’ll live. Speaking of Cate, she’s definitely headed into her “3’s.” I’ve had tons of people tell me that 3 is way worse than 2, and already I can see it. She can go several days being sweet and then she turns into a crazy person for a few days. Sometimes I expect her head to swivel around and spit out pea soup like The Exorcist or something. Most of all, I have to watch what a say around her. After being asked by Dad the other night to get into the bathtub, she replied, “You’ve got to be kidding me!” Actually, pretty hilarious, but she did get reprimanded.

Peri is cheerful as ever. Seriously, she is such a happy child. I promise I’m not being that parent…she smiles ALL THE TIME!!!! It’s really cute most of the time, just not at 3:30 a.m. when I want to go back to bed! She is still having stomach problems (a.k.a. diarrhea!), but she is gaining weight and seems to be happy. I’m hopeful it will end soon. My doctor thinks it is a stomach virus that is just leaving it’s lasting effects for weeks. Here’s hoping…

So, I’m going back to my laundry now. Wish us luck.
