The Wilting Flower…

Well, of course, we had these grand plans for Cate’s first fun Halloween, but for the Mossman’s, things never go according to plan. Cate’s flower costume did arrive on Saturday morning, although she had already missed her school’s costume party and Friday night festivities at Cole’s Gardens. But, I’m not complaining, right?

Upon arrival and after some coaxing, Cate was thrilled with her new “flower” shoes because she is a girl who likes to accessorize! However, the flower headdress was quite another story. I tried all day to get her to wear the lovely little flower hat, but she kept she giving me a firm, “NO!” I’m guessing maybe she understands the value of not over-accessorizing!

Ma and Pa made the trip from Okemah to enjoy the evening’s festivities which included a great dinner (Cate totally pigged out!) and a trip to the OKC Zoo for “Haunt the Zoo!” We managed to get the flower hat onto Cate’s head, but she wasn’t always happy about her outfit. The zoo was ridiculously crowded and by the end of the evening, I think all the adults and Cate were ready to go home.

Anyway, here are some pics from the evening for everyone. Cate won’t be trick-or-treating tonight…she will be home handing out candy to our neighbors. We’ll see what next year brings.
