A Word About Laundry

One of my favorite authors, Erma Bombeck, once said “doing your own laundry keeps you humble.” Clearly, she has never visited my house. I prefer to say, “doing your own laundry keeps you insane.”

Where does all this laundry come from? It’s never-ending! It piles up so quickly that it looks like we all change our clothes 5 times per day. Most amazingly, is how much laundry there is for my 3-month-old. She’s not even crawling and good lord, her dirty laundry piles up quicker than anyone’s.

This phenomenon is not something unique to my house. We’ve all talked about it, but sometimes, it seems overwhelming. I promise, even when I have caught up on laundry, I could find two more loads to do if I look hard enough.

I don’t really have much of point; I just want to gripe about the serious heaps of clothing, towels and sheets in my basement.

So, I am now trudging back downstairs to do about 50 more loads. Not to mention that I will have to put all that stuff away in drawers in a few hours. It’s enough to drive you insane. Seriously.
